North Carolina Alliance of YMCAs Board Chair Lynn Lomax announced that Paige Hughes Binfield will serve as the Alliance’s next CEO, effective November 3, 2025. 

Bryan Miranda, Chief Volunteer Officer of YMCA of the Sandhills, announced Jeff Darling is the Ys next CEO. The process was supported by the YMCA of the USA CEO Search Team in partnership with the state Alliance.

Raleigh, N.C., January 25, 2023 – The North Carolina Alliance of YMCAs elected Lynn Lomax, President and CEO of the YMCA of High Point, as chair of its board of directors for a two-year term.

Congratulations and welcome to the state’s newest CEOs: Laura Sweitzer is President and CEO of the Tom A. Finch Family YMCA in Thomasville, and Mark Pritchett is CEO of the Goldsboro Family YMCA.

Leigha S. Smith, Chief Volunteer Officer of the Board of Directors of the J. Smith Young YMCA, announced the selection of Jen Fuller-Allen as the new CEO of the J. Smith Young YMCA. Fuller-Allen will officially begin her role on June 1st, 2021 replacing the current interim CEO Billy Freeman.

The Eastern Carolina YMCA announced March 31, 2021, that David Heggie will serve as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective May 2021. He will succeed Todd Shuart, who retired in September 2020.

About 900 people have received their first COVID-19 vaccines at the Gaston County Family YMCA this spring through a partnership with Vax Van. Michael, a member at the Y, is just one of them.
