Kudos to the YMCA of Western North Carolina for recent recognition of its Minority Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP). Buncombe County Health and Human Services has earned full recognition from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for its MDPP, which is presented by YMCA of Western North Carolina with support from the Asheville Buncombe Institute for Parity Achievement.

Despite the challenges presented by COVID-19, NC MDPP successfully transitioned from in-person to virtual classes without losing the close-knit group support.
